After nearly 35 years in practice, Peter Buck, one of Seattle’s top trial lawyers, wanted to start over. His firm, Buck & Gordon, was one of the region’s top full-service law firms, but Peter wanted to focus on his specialty, serious litigation. Widely known for his efficient and intensely practical, roll-up-your-sleeves approach, Peter wanted to build a trial boutique with like-minded lawyers.
We worked closely with Seattle marketing guru, Leslie Meagley. Because Peter was an especially well-known local lawyer, we knew there was a risk that the media would create wild speculation about the reason for his departure from the firm he founded. We wanted to help shape the public story while building a marketing campaign that focused on his dynamic style and personality. The tag line, “Let’s just get it done.” expressed his style and personality, and we created a quick supporting new-firm announcement, advertising campaign, brochure, and website.
The business media reported the story extremely positively, helping launch the new firm, and he grew quickly.
